URGENT CALL TO ACTION! Contact Your Senators NOW To Protect CBD

In a distressing and urgent turn of events, Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) filed an Amendment to the 2018 Farm Bill today that would remove “cannabinoids,” “extracts” and “derivatives” from the definition of hemp. The Amendment is a direct gift to Big Pharma that would devastate the current CBD and hemp industry. Contact your Senators NOW and tell them that you oppose the Grassley Amendment to the 2018 Farm Bill.

The Amendment contains an entire section entitled, “Development of FDA Approved Drugs Using Cannabidiol and Marijuana”. That section states that “an appropriately registered covered institution of higher education, a practitioner, or a manufacturer may distribute, dispense, or possess marihuana or cannabidiol if the marihuana or cannabidiol is manufactured, distributed, dispensed, or possesses, respectively, for purposes of medical research for drug development.” (emphasis added) This appears to be the CBD ‘land grab’ that many of us have been cynically awaiting but hoping would not appear. Contact your Senators NOW and tell them that you oppose the Grassley Amendment to the 2018 Farm Bill.

The Amendment could be voted on as early as TOMORROW (ie, Wednesday, June 13). Contact your Senators NOW and tell them that you oppose the Grassley Amendment to the 2018 Farm Bill.
