Rod Discusses US and EU CBD Regulations at Europe Canna Expo-Dublin

Rod Kight compares and contrasts the EU and US regulatory regimes for CBD at Europe Canna Expo-Dublin.

I had a great experience in Dublin speaking at the Europe Cann Expo (ECE). Held last week, it was the first major cannabis conference to be hosted in Ireland. Although ECE is a pan-European conference, Ireland featured heavily in the discussions. The two day event was loosely divided between science/medical (day 1) and business/policy (day 2). It included top industry participants in the industry and several high level government officials. I spoke on day 2.

For my talk, I compared and contrasted the hemp and CBD regulatory regimes in Europe and US. Although they parallel each other in some respects, particularly policy, they are fundamentally different in their approaches. Both contend that CBD is a compound new to human consumption and that safety is a fundamental concern. However, the pathway to market for each is fundamentally different. I enjoyed discussing the issues arising out of each approach.

Thanks to ECE and all of the people I met. Here are some pictures.
